Job Title: Full Time IT Support Engineer (2nd Line)

Location: Oxford or Alcester, Warwickshire (Flexible home and office based with travel to client sites and training venues)

Reports to: Helpdesk Manager

Benefits: Staff bonus Scheme, 20 days annual holiday rising to 25 after 5 years of service, pension scheme

The support team handle a wide range of support requests and can often get involved in presales technical enquiries.

Job Position Summary:

Due to our ongoing success we are looking to recruit another member for our technical department. The support provided will include fault diagnosis and rectification of Internet connectivity, Email including Microsoft Exchange environments, Microsoft Windows desktop, Office and server platforms, antivirus and firewalls whilst providing an escalation point for our 1st line engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to customers via telephone, email and remote control for the range of products and services that S2 Technologies provide
  • Provide support and become and escalation point for our 1st line engineers
  • Complete IT administration requests
  • Take responsibility of issues and requests keeping the customer informed at all times
  • Diagnose and resolve customer problems, escalating when necessary.
  • Handle general customer enquiries
  • Liaise with third party organisations
  • Provide reports to the client and the company

The Person:

You will have excellent communications skills and work well as part of a small team whilst being able to manage your own workload and time management. You will be enthusiastic with excellent problem solving skills. You will have a desire to continue learning and developing your knowledge and skills maintaining a keen interest and passion for IT.

Education / Qualification:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs
  • 2 A Level passes or equivalent
  • Post Secondary School education relating to IT, qualifications or training desirable

Skill Requirements:

  • Experience in providing IT support ideally in a helpdesk environment
  • Technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop, Office and Server environments
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
  • Good time management and prioritisation
  • Initiative and self-motivated
  • A professional working attitude
  • The ability to learn and develop new product knowledge and skill sets
  • Reporting
